Hey fellas! If you’re attending an office party, get-together, wedding or any special occasion this summer and not sure what to wear, we’ve got you covered with a few season appropriate fashion dos and don’ts.
Leave your tux at home. It’s totally okay to give up the formals and keep it semi-formal. It appears formal and feels casual, all you need in the scorching heat. Focus on wearing comfortable, breathable fabric like cotton and linen – be it trousers, shirts, t-shirts or jackets. So you don’t overheat during both indoor and outdoor parties.
So, gentlemen, it’s time for a man-to-man talk.
- Be Overdressed Than Under-dressed
Though Huetrap is a huge advocate of keeping things simple during the summer, we suggest not to underdress. Meaning, not to dress informally in a loose button-down shirt and jeans. Instead, flaunt a t-shirt with a matching jacket, trousers and loafers; making you stand out in the crowd. There is enough room for experimenting with your look. If you’re caught between two items, it is better to err on the side of the one that’s more ceremonial. Sport anything you like but never underdress.
- Wear Light Colours
Now is the time to be wearing light coloured clothes as it reflects light and doesn’t absorb heat, eventually keeps your body cool. Colours like white, yellow, beige and other neutrals shades keep you cool this season to cope with the heat in style. For example, you can pair a white t-shirt, brown chinos and blue jacket together. Black and other dark colours are a BIG no-no as it causes the opposite reaction over your body.
- Add-on Accessories
Stand out from the crowd with minimal yet classy accessories that are light coloured, lightweight, and functional. Many guys drift from accessories. That’s a mistake. Accessories allow you to stand out and add a touch of your personality to your outfit. Not your usual suspects like neckties but season appropriate add-ons like sunglasses, watch, wristbands, loafers, wallet and hat (optional).
